a. Local Mils Service came into operation for letters and post cards

at 1941 rates on 28th Sept.

b. Sea Mails.

Despatch of letters and post cards to South China

(via Canton) and Macao commenced on 1st Oct.

c. Mails to India & U.K. First despatch was sent by s.s.Empire

Lagan on 16th Oct. sailing for kadras and London.

Canada & Jurope via U.S... First despatch wes sent per s.s. Shirrabank” for San Francisco on 20th Oct. 9. Air Mails.

3. Opening of lost offices. General Post office, Hongkong, ***

Kowloon Central Post Office nd heung Wan and Wanchai Branch 1.Js are now opened, but owing to shortage of personnel hours of service are restricted.

h. Revenue & Expenditure shows an excess of expenditure over revenue of 20,338.24. this position will gradually be corrected with incre: sed sole of starps.
